I didn't like this VN. Not at all.
The story seemed unoriginal and you didn't seem to spend much effort on it.
The artwork wasn't suitable either.
I am just expressing my personal opinion. Remember that I don't mean to hurt your feelings by doing so.

If you should happen to download this, check and see if the original script containing screen_menu=none is still present at line 32. Being forced to run through it with the text speed fixed and no skip is of limited entertainment value, personal opinion.

This post is not helpful and may even be perceived as offensive. Please re-read the Teacup's general values and rules in this thread: http://teacup.lunaen.com/index.php?topic=2.0

Genre: romantic comedy

Description:

The Affair is a kinetic novel using a story that I wrote for a short story challenge back in 2008 by PyTom, the creator of the Ren'Py visual novel engine. The challenge was to write a story with generic backgrounds and at least two female characters. My inspiration for this story comes from mid-nineties to 2000s romantic comedy anime such as Ranma 1/2, Love Hina and Onegai Twins.

This visual novel was made specifically for The Teacup Visual Novel Festival 2011. The resolution is optimized for 1024x600 netbooks and should work well with widescreen monitors.

We are now celebrating The Teacup forum's fourth event, The Teacup Visual Novel Festival 2011, following the traditions of its predecessor from 2010.

Each day, the festival featured a different Visual Novel game release created especially for this event. Please enjoy the variety of Visual Novels offered by our many participants!

10
Last year, The Teacup Visual Novel 2010 marked the beginning of what has become The Teacup’s trademark of being an event-based community. Due to the short span of time we had to work with in order to organize the event last year, we kept the details of the event a secret from the public and limited to only the founding members of The Teacup until release month.

This year, we’re starting the preparations for the festival early and making it open to all interested visual novel creators.

The rules of the festival are very simple. Simply indicate your desire to enter your game into the 2011 festival inside this thread. We’re open for entries until one month before the festival (the 1st of July). Basically, the only rule of the festival is that you agree to release your game sometime during the festival month along with the other participants. Please back out at least a week or two before release month if you feel that you can't make it.

The festival will feature one game every day starting from release month and up (the 1st of August, the 2nd of August and so on). All entries must be complete or at least nearly complete as soon as the month before release month arrives in order to give us enough time to decide on the order in which the games will be released.

All entries are welcome at this point. Your game could be a work-in-progress, a game idea that you are planning to work on, or a completed but still unreleased game. Think of the Teacup Visual Novel Festival 2011 as a motivation to get a jump start on some of your unfinished projects, or to start working on a new game.

The Festival is now officially open. Interested applicants may apply here or you can PM one of the mods/admins if you want to enter in secret.

The release month is August.

11
Now that we've decided to stop with the monthly releases of BTW, we're planning to make the last volume on the theme "Visual Novel Endings"

Release Date: TBA sometime in December 2010
Please use this thread to ask questions or make suggestions for this volume.

Community Discussion / Re: Rules on erotica
« on: April 22, 2010, 02:36:16 am »
Regarding mikey's post, he did ask us for permission before continuing the discussion prior to this announcement, so it's fine.

Based on the admin meeting last April 21, 2010. Everyone unanimously decided to keep the current forum rules regarding erotic content as is.

Regarding what is a "visual novel?" - This is something that we have decided should be dynamic and open to change. It will be an administrative prerogative to disallow certain games that we believe should not be considered as visual novels. It will be a lot more work, but our admins are ready and willing to take up that challenge. Games which have been previously disallowed will form a part of precedence for this forum as to what should be excluded.

As to "mindless pornography" this is also a term that will be defined based on precedence rather than a concrete definition that is set in stone. For now, the admins have decided that the threshold level should be set at games like The Nettestadt Troll which is the maximum level of erotica tolerated here.

However, we feel that it is better to gradually add a list of what types of games are excluded rather than what games are included to make the rule a bit less restrictive.
Regardless of any prior statement made by any of our admins, for now the controlling rule regarding this is: the following games or those of similar nature are not allowed to be discussed nor posted in the Teacup.

-Rapelay (and basically all of Illusion's 3D sex games)
-Sexual Fantasy Kingdom
-Suck My Dick Or Die
-The Maiden Rape Assault - Violent Semen Inferno
-Virgin Roster
-Polygon Love 2

Images containing explicit content are also not allowed to be shown here. We have to consider the limitations of our host's server and even if it were allowed, it would be impolite to the owner of the lunaen.com domain. Furthermore, the admins themselves do not wish to have discussions of "mindless pornography" (refer to the above examples for a baseline) in the forums.

If you have further inquiries, please do it in a PM to any of our admins so we may discuss it among ourselves. If you are still confused as to whether or not a certain type of game or game discussion qualifies in the teacup based on our rules, please do it in a PM to any of our admins as well.

Disclaimer: The following article expresses the personal views of lordcloudx as an individual creator. This is not said in my capacity as an administrator of the Teacup and it does not express the collective opinion of the Teacup community or its administrators.

Quote from: lordcloudx
This is the final release for The Teacup Visual Novel Festival 2010. Dream Chasers -Final- is ultimately a choice-less visual novel told through the point-of-view of different protagonists.

The first version of this story came in an rpgmaker game released discreetly sometime in 2002-2003. The rpg featured only a small portion of the final version of the Dream Chasers story, which was softly released without music in the Lemmasoft Forums in 2008. At that time, I’d made a promise to release the full version of Dream Chasers with fully-voiced characters while leaving the actual release date open.

Unfortunately, after various attempts at collaborating with different voice actors, the inconsistency in the sound quality and the unavailability of some of the original voice actors made me decide to drop the character voices for good.

Before proceeding further, I’m afraid I must bore you with a short historical background about myself and LSF (The Lemmasoft Forums) because it is ultimately connected with this final visual novel project from Radical Dreamers 2002.

About three years ago, I decided to start working on my own visual novel after reading the English translated versions of Narcissu and Soremata (Until We Meet Again). Both stories touched me deeply, as I’ve mentioned in some of my notes included within my own games. This was the starting point for the persona known as lordcloudx/Cloud^ and his adventures and misadventures in the world of English Visual Novel Creation. I started out by releasing my works to upload.com, from which, they received fairly favorable audience response. Of course, it would not be until a few months later when PyTom (Creator of the Ren’Py visual novel engine, which I used for all of my Visual Novels) himself would discover my first three Visual Novels and introduce them to the Lemmasoft Forums. The narcissist that I am (I like Narcissu after all ;P) I did not let this opportunity to freely advertise my works slip past me (lest I regret it forever and have to do a redux :D) and I soon became a regular in LSF.

It was fun, fulfilling and sometimes frustrating; this whole business of writing visual novels for a hobby. However, It actually felt a lot more enjoyable and meaningful back when I was never a part of this community called LSF. Now, I cannot deny that LSF has become a part of me, just as I have established myself as a part of it over the years. LSF was fun, and perhaps, it still is even now; just not to me. The community has changed… or should I say, “evolved” over the years, not just in the structural, “virtua-physical sense”, nor even in the current population of active posters. It’s hard to describe, but I feel that it has lost something important. Yes, change is unavoidable in a growing community, but the fact that I don’t have to like it either is equally true. That said, personally, VN Creation was really becoming more of a migraine than it was worth for me, thus, with this piece, the final version of Dream Chasers, I say my final farewell (as a creator) to the EVN community, though I doubt if that much even means anything nowadays.

Originally, a sour, biting and generally undignified rant was to follow after this paragraph, but given that this is no longer LSF, but The new Teacup EVN community, I decided to scrap the idea.

So yes, I have lots of gripes with the way the community was shaping up and as LSF continued to grow, I could only imagine how much more warped it will have become in my eyes compared to three years ago. Yet, I cannot deny that LSF has (had) its good points as well. It was there where I met many good people with hobbies and interests similar to my own. It was through LSF that I was able to participate in countless interesting discussions without the nonsense that pervades other anime-related forums.

There are still many more thoughts racing through my mind right now. Things left unsaid but, I feel that they are merely reiterations in different forms of the stuff I’ve already mentioned.

Nonetheless, I would like my ramblings to end on a subjectively positive note. Thus, to everyone in the EVN community, thank you very much and I hope you enjoy Radical Dreamers 2002’s swan song.

I'd also like to express my personal thanks to everyone who has been a part of this project whether you saw it through to completion or not.
